ABOUT ME

I grew up in Istanbul, drawn to creativity, self-expression, and movement. Dance was my silent language — a way to share my truth as a ballerina at the state conservatory during my childhood years.

Yet, despite my love for dance, I followed the advice of those who believed a traditional path offered greater stability and future success. I left ballet to eventually pursue a degree in English Language and Literature at the University of Istanbul, which still nurtured my creative spirit and love for books.

My curiosity soon led me beyond familiar borders, taking me across seven countries and three continents to study, work, and live. That same curiosity pulled me toward the world of logic and technology, starting a new journey in Computational Linguistics at the University of Munich — the foundation of what we now know as AI and Large Language Models. As the internet scaled and Google was born, I completed my PhD and entered the corporate world. Around this time, Argentinian tango entered my life, captivating me completely. It has become the air I breathed for more than twenty years.

Fueled by passion and a relentless drive for success together with a mind that was rigorously trained on data and facts, I climbed the corporate ladder, working for industry leaders such as Microsoft, Siemens, Accenture, chasing ever more external validation with every achievement. But the fast pace and a toxic work environment eventually took their toll. I developed an unbearable amount of body tension and pain followed by significant sleep disturbances. Emotionally, I felt empty inside. I isolated myself from family and friends. And then I burned out.

It took me two years of a sabbatical to recover — a journey that rewrote my story. Unable to dance due to pain and tension, while grieving the loss of what I loved most, I suffered. In my search for healing, I discovered somatics — the body-mind connection — marking the start of a lifelong path.

Through years of training, self-education, body-mind therapies, meditation, and self-reflection, I realized that I had sacrificed parts of myself in pursuit of success. Yet, dance had always been my lifeline, pulling me out of self-denial and guiding me back to my truth.

As I returned to the corporate world, it became clear to me that there is something missing in the way we approach attaining success in the business world. The body.

To lead a life of vitality, success, higher purpose, financial gain and genuine human connection, executives must learn how to bridge the body-mind gap that is the reality of today's workplace culture. There is no other way for real and sustainable outcomes.

With AI advancing at an unprecedented pace, now is the right time to embrace embodied leadership. We are supported more than ever with access to tools, platforms and communities that can aid deeper self-awareness, ability to tune into our bodies, stress regulation, and intuitive decision-making. Ultimately, AI can assist us to lead authentically in alignment with both logic and intuition, presence, and connection in tangible ways.

Today, nothing matters more to me than guiding you on your journey to bridge the body-mind gap, empowering you to lead with freedom and authenticity from your awakened, embodied self. And in doing so, you can give others permission to do the same.
